Our patterns bridge this gap by centering on US standard ASTM men's and women's plus sizes, thoughtfully adapted to accommodate the specific requirements of the drag community.

PLEASE NOTE: Katkow primarily specializes in designing sewing patterns for drag queens, whose measurements tend to be larger, please be aware that not all of our patterns will be available in AFAB women's sizing.

Fabric & Notions

Fabric: Choose a 4-way stretch fabric exclusively, as 2-way stretch will not work for this pattern. Recommended fabrics include Spandex, Milliskin, Lycra, Cabaret Stretch Mesh or similar stretchy materials.

Back Closure: Insert an invisible zipper along the center back. A 22” zipper or longer is suitable for both drag queen and standard women’s sizes.

Notions: Purchase pre-made shoulder pads for this garment. For a dramatic effect, opt for larger pads or stack multiple layers to achieve an exaggerated look.

Footwear: This pattern includes an extended sock-length design. You can choose to cut and hem it at the ankle, wear it as a sock inside shoes, or modify it to wrap seamlessly around pointed, closed-toe heels.

For the modification, you will also need store-bought replacement soles large enough to match the shape of your heel sole and strong glue, such as E6000, for secure attachment.

Our standard women’s sizing is based on ASTM Missy Curvy measurements for sizes 2–20 and ASTM Plus Curvy measurements for sizes 20W–24W, designed for an average height of 65 inches. Please note that sizes with a “w” are not the same: size 20 is part of Missy sizing, while 20w is included in Plus sizing and features adjustments for a curvier fit.

Do the pattern pages have margins?

Yes, our PDF sewing patterns have margins that will need to be trimmed or folded before taping together.

It is important to note your printer settings should be set to scale: 100% and NOT fit to page.

Can any gender wear this pattern?

Yes, anyone who matches the size measurements provided with each pattern can wear them. However, some adjustments may be needed.

Our unique drag queen sizes are based off of U.S. Standard Men’s & Women’s Plus sizes to better fit male bodies with padding.

We increase shoulder, bicep, elbow, wrist, knee, calf, ankle widths, and lower crotch inseams, compared to standard Women's sizing.

All sizes can be altered at the waist, knee, and elbow to achieve a better fit for you.
